How To Read Mp5.1.1 Fault Codes?

Recommended Posts

PsychoSimon

Hi all.

Have just bought a 406 2.0 16v but the fuel consumption is pretty bad. I have done 250 miles to just over three quarters of a tank (and it's a damn big tank too lol) which i'm guessing is not right.

I was wondering how to read the fault codes from this ecu as i think it may be a couple of sensors down.

Any help would be great,

Regards,

Simon

sounds about normal really, my zx 2litre turbo did 200 to a full tank 48litres IIRC, and around 100 when flooring it.

thing is this isnt a turbo. It's the bog standard 135bhp jobbie. hopefully it's not normal as iv burned off a tank in a week lol

You can get a Draper fault code reader and go from there:)

Sounds like it may be Lambda sensor related or speed sensor module if it has one?

sorry went to edit it then the pc timed out! realised u said non turbo after first post!

tbh though, 325ish on a full tank in a big 406... doesnt sound too bad...

if anything major was wrong the ecu light would be on.

I assume the 406 fuel tank is 70 litres like the 405 fuel tank?? A 405 Mi16 can get 400 miles from a tankful. I bet it's running rich because the lambda sensor is filthy.
