Recommended Posts

ok i`m currently trying to read the pinned topic refering to this but i think i`m a little out of my depth.

So in the mean time can someone help me my car has just failed the mot on the master cylinder, the master cylinder i had fitted i know was a larger dia than standard due to pedal travel when i had the brake kit fitted however the garage that fitted the kit and suggested the master cylinder is no longer in existance so cannot help me the fitted part has no part no on it so any suggestion on where to get a lager master cylinder and what sort/dia i should be looking at

cheers

Depends on the size of the pistons in the hi-specs, but probably a 22.2mm 306 non-abs master cylinder. (although there's a bigger one available too)

i think most people with 4 pots (like me) use the 23.8mm M/C from the 405 non-pas

Brembo 4-pots work nicely with 23.8mm m/c on my T16 :(.

I have 295 AP 4pots and I used a 406 master cylinder. Pedal travel is short, but not on and off. I think there are 2 406 cylinders though, one with two outputs and one with four. I have the four output version.

might be 4601 f7 or 4601 j7 i cant remember exactly but it's the 406 one as mentioned above that you'll need

23.8mm 4 hole pre 98 non abs and works fine with my billet 4's
