Rear Polycarb Window

Recommended Posts

What have people used to fit/stick their rear polycarb window in with?

I've heard using windscreen glue works, but what exactly am I looking for and where would I get it from?

I went in to halfords and all I could find was silicone, I assume this wouldn't be strong enough and not quite what people mean by windscreen glue.

Has anyone rivited it in place, will the polycarbonate stand up to it?

base model rubbers are the best. other than that rivet/bolt if screen oversized

riveting works very well. I've done a few polycarb windows this way. I then do a very thin seal of silicone and its waterproof too :)

Sorry I mean the rear, as in the boot lid.

I've done all the others and used the base model rubbers for the rear 1/4's.

paint a 1 1/2" black strip round the edge then mastic it in then screws

the black lip makes it look tidyer!!!

So is the general feel to rivit and silicone it in?

I'm guessing that drilling / riviting doesn't split the polycarbonite?

drilling is fine. I'd bolt them in to be honest. Like i did here with small headed bolts.

Ok brilliant, thanks.

I'll have a pop at it on the weekend.

Cheers.
