Pinking Noise With Motronic Ignition?!

Good Evening Guys,

 

I have recently discovered what can only be described as a pinking noise, which occurs for example when in 5th gear at low speed. The thing is, I have the later engine with the Motronic 1.3 ignition system, which i believe im right in saying is not adjustable when it comes to ignition timing, since it doesnt have a conventional dizzy.

 

The problem is only slight, and the performance feels spot on, so should i be expecting a little bit of pinking from my engine and just live with it, or could the problem lie elsewhere, perhaps bottom end? The car has always been run using Optimax (V Power) or more recently, BP Ultimate (which for some reason seems to reduce the pinking noise more than V Power). Is it worth investigating further, or am i simply addressing a common problem?
