405 Seats...will They Fit In A 205?

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

While searching local scrappy's for a rev counter from various td Peugeots for my turbo conversion, i came across a 405 executive with mint full leather interior. The seats look the same as the seats in 309 Goodwood's, and i was wondering if anyone knows if their the same, and fit in 205's? I know one of the lads who works at this yard, and can get them very cheap! :D

I'm very sure they do, are indeed very similar to Goodwood ones as you say, will need a bracket made up for one side of each seat, around 50mm iirc.

Edit; As above, search, i looked not too long ago about fitting the Goodwood's in a 205, i know the XM seats also can be fitted, so no doubt someone has done the 405 ones too.

The executive seats don't quite have the same amount of side support as goodwood seats, although that doesn't really make much difference - they are damn comfy! There is also a good chance that they are heated.

309 front seats are the same width as the 405, so they'll fit just as easily.

That's a good price for a set of goodwoods, mine were £200, but definitely worth it.

I wouldn't bother with 405 seats unless you're not bothered about the rears, as you'll still have to find rears in leather to match.

Hello Ada205,

Yes, as several fellow members have advised, the fronts will fit quite easily - each one just requires a small bracket to be made so that you can attach the slightly wider seat frame to the 205 sub-frame.

I have them fitted in my CTi, and can give you further advice + drawing for brackets if you wish.

I was not offered 405 rear seats, so I don't know what problems you might have trying to fit them. As another member suggested, I eventually found some all leather rear 205 GTI seats, which sort of fit the bill - but if you look at them, you can see that they are a different, and much smoother type of leather ... so not quite a perfect combination in my case!

But I do find the front 405 seats both comfortable and supportive .... and they came with electric heaters!

Good luck

Roy

Thank all for your advice and comments.

I'm still undecided, though the seats are still in the yard, and look nicer every time i see them!

Only two things that put me off are the prob's of the backs not matching exactly if i find some 205 rears in black leather, and the fact I'd already brought buckets for the car they would be fitted in, but as previously said, they'd owe me next to nothing, so I'm tempted to add them to my stock pile, even if i dont have a car in mind for them currently!
