Moys1.9 0 Posted October 2, 2006 Fitting a new rear calliper this week. I'm familiar with the process of bleeding the brakes when refilling the system however was wondering is it ok to leave the cap off the brake reservoir when pumping up the pressure? jim21070 2 Posted October 2, 2006 Yes. But for no longer than absolutely necessary, to avoid atmospheric mosture being absorbed by the fluid, whicjh is bad news. On the same token, keep your bottle of new brake fluid tightly capped at all times, except, obviously, when you are using it to top-up the fluid reservior!
