clifton 0 Posted October 3, 2006 how much difference is there on arches to the wide arches one?
mbayley77 0 Posted October 5, 2006 I love these arches. But when you take off the old original arches does it leave some nasty unsightly clips etc along the 3/4 panel and front wing where the original plastic went?

Yes it does, those little rivets have to be ground down and smoothed over, unless you get base model doors to save a bit of hassle of course Under the arches isnt a problem, just leaves holes. smighall 1 Posted October 5, 2006 What width wheels are you boys running with those wider arches. I've got hold of a 7" wide set for my track car, and thinking do i need wider arches?
smckeown 1 Posted October 5, 2006 i'm running standard width. Not sure you need/want wider tyres for a track car ? I thought the rally/rallycross guys wanted wider width fronts for extra grip on loose surfaces
smighall 1 Posted October 5, 2006 The plan is to still use 195 tyres probably, but it should give the tyre a squarer profile and therefore more grip.
Henry Yorke 269 3 Cars Posted October 5, 2006 What width wheels are you boys running with those wider arches. I've got hold of a 7" wide set for my track car, and thinking do i need wider arches? I'm running 7J wheels all round on my CTI with 195/50/15 tyres using standard arches. It depends how much spacer depth you want to run to increase the track of the car. Obviously the wider the track, the more stability you tend to get through corners and on high speed straights. Wider tyres can give more lateral grip but can add drag (through friction and aerodynamics). I have seen 8Jx15 wheels under standard arches too

Sam 4 Posted October 9, 2006 I run 16x8 with ET5 offset and the wider versions looked stupid, i'd stick with the slimmer ones unless you're monster wide track!
