Guest ashnicholls Posted October 1, 2006 If I go round an island at about 30mph, or I am going down hill and steering, there is a big clunk when I start to straighten up. My bushes in my wishbones are split, and I think my drive shafts are on way out, as crackle round tight turns. So is it one of those????????? Guest ashnicholls Posted October 1, 2006 Thanks for that, narrowed it down. Which one does it sound most like. Drive shafts make a continous knocking noise dont they. So doesnt really sound like that. So can worn/split bushes on the wishbones make it clunk? Cheers Ash
welshpug 1,657 Posted October 1, 2006 there is a big clunk when I start to straighten up.My bushes in my wishbones are split, and I think my drive shafts are on way out, as crackle round tight turns. 2 separate problems, and seeing as the bush definitely needs replacing whatever else may be causing the noise get that sorted and see if the noise is still there driveshafts that are on their way but not gone can cause the symptoms as you described i.e cracking sound on tighter turns.
