Lower Wishbones

Recommended Posts

Guest ashnicholls

The bushes on my lower wish bones on my 1.1 309 have split and are no good.

Is this the lower wish bone:

T42216 FR CONT ARM LH 309 EXCL GTi/TD 27.50

T42217 FR CONT ARM RH 309 EXCL GTi/TD 27.50

And is this just the bush:

T42236 FR CONT ARM BUSH 309 2.50

Could I not just replace the bushes???????????

Could this cause a knock, in the steering when I go round a island???????

Or is that something more serious????????

Cheers Ash

Hi Ash,

That looks like the correct part numbers, normally duff wishbone bushes make the handling very vague and unpredictable, and of course there is the characteristic knocking sound!! but knock could also be attributed to worn track rod ends too...best to jack the front up and give the wishbone bushes a bit of a levering with a crowbar and you should be able to judge if any of the bushes need replacing (they should be nice and firm)

hope this helps

Well, they split and tore when were getting them off to get the engine out.

So dont think they are very good at all.

I think those bushes are for the other end.

Not what I was thinking, I thought they were the pressed in bush, that holds the bar, that attatches to the suspension tower.

So I will need new wishbones.

And if they are the ones then will get myself a pair of those.

Cheers
