I see, how comes you used a 1.9 head then? I thought they were pretty much the same animal?

I've read this post 3 times now and i still cant way up if a Gti6 inlet manifold fits straight onto the 2.0mi16/s16. Can anyone confirm that it fits if you remove the locating dowels??? cheers al

I can confirm, but on the other hand I think the dowels should stay :)

Lose the dowells - Not necessary with seven or eight studs holding the manifold on.

That depends on how well you want the ports to line up. A better method is to slot the existing holes so the manifold fits either head.

Hi together,

i fitted my xu9j4 head with the inlet from the gti6 xu10j4rs. I hadn´t any big problems with it. The only thing is, where to fill in the oil? if the inlet from gti6 is mounted, there´s no space for the oil filler.

Also the throttle body from xu9j4 doesn´t match to the inlet.

So i made a plate to clear the problem.

All togehther it´s not the easiest thing to mount the gti6 inlet to the xu9j4 head.

What´s a little problem too is, the position of the throttle body isn´t straight like the standard one.

So you´ll have problems with connect the airbox.

When first talking about that ACAV inlet.

Can someone tell me where to attach the vacum-hoses on the electro-valve?

One hose was attached already when we got the engine, and that's the one that goes to the actuators to open-close the extra throttles (this is attached to the side of the valve where the wiring-plug connects to it).

The two other connections on the electrovalve is not connected to anything atm.

Can someone shed some light on where they're supposed to go?

Thanks.

I'll check price on a new valve, but usually if you send small items in bubble-plastic envelopes as letters it seem to be fairly cheap.

the solenoid (electro valve) should have 3 ports, 2 one side and one the other, connect the acav system to one of the 2 on one side and the vacuum hose from your brake servo shoulod go the one on the opposite side. This will mean a T piece in the hose so you can still connect the servo. The last one just vents to air. when you start the car the avac butterflys should be closed, if the open then swap the hose to the other port.
