Guest renn_205 Posted September 28, 2006 (edited) Hi all First time posting (I think), bit of a lurker really. Have a 205s16 project almost completed. However we have discovered that the injectors are clogged. Subject to a clean, which is likely to be unsuccessful. I will need to replace them. From searching on here and the web I have not come across any solid information on what flow I am after. So far I have found a PDF of Bosch injectors that does call out a injector at 200cc. But then another in that thread by PeterT (another Aussie) called out a different part number, showing 196cc. The engine runs the 306 s16 (for XU10J4) ECU (Bosch MP3.2?) and has a reground cam (+15%) from the afore mentioned poster. So I'm unsure if I can run slightly bigger injectors and the ECU and O2 sensor will sort it out or I should get the exact ones? Hilgie 16 2 Cars Posted October 1, 2006 Slightly bigger injectors shouldn't be a problem. I suggest putting in some 1.9-8V/16V injectors (Bosch ending with 762)
Guest renn_205 Posted October 6, 2006 Ta! mate. already done. used the (XU9) 8/16v injectors to get it running in the mean time. while the XU10 injectors get cleaned, if possible. Thanks for the reply thought! The XU9 injectors should do the job for the moment. Quite a few diff opinions. some say won't be much diff. some say ECu is prog with s16 injector info, so will correct thinking it has those injectors and not understand that it has other. Makes sense... unless it relies on pure info from sensors... hmmm. most probably the former
Hilgie 16 2 Cars Posted October 7, 2006 As far as I know it will shorten the dutycycle of the injectors once it knows that the engine is running too rich.
