Pugnut 9 1 Cars Posted September 27, 2006 30mm or so all round should do the trick . lower it any more and it wont feel to good . you'll need the rear torsion bars reset to suit whatever springs you put on the front . this is best done proffesionally unless you've done it before. very nice 205 by the way! welshpug 1,657 Posted September 27, 2006 25mm front and std rear works well. at least thats what the back end looks like on mine! the rear arches are lower so it just looks flat now.
Faz85 0 Posted September 27, 2006 Hi Steve, I agree with pugnut, looks very nice...I have the SBC phase 1 setup at the moment which is a 25mm drop, which gives fantastic handling but is quite firm driving round town, and quite expensive too at £590. Its a trade up between looks and handling when lowering, so it depends on what your main concern is, but personally i think 35mm is a good compromise between looks and performance. You can get lowering springs for upwards of £30 (but dont expect much for that price!), the SBC springs (currently on my car) you can get for £55, which i currently have, but in retrospect i wish i had gone for a slightly lower drop for a better "look". Eibach have a pretty good name, and are reasonably priced...and have a look at Bilstein Kits, such as the streetline kit, which isnt too bad (although a bit bouncy at the rear end) Regards Faraz

Jonmurgie 2 Posted September 27, 2006 A quick search would have revealed a LOT of info on lowering the 205 and what's best/recommended etc. worth trying in future 30/35mm seems to be about right BTW
