Injectors Question Again

Recommended Posts

futura

Since trying on a different set of injectors sorted my warm starting issues, I concluded that my injectors were leaking. Phoned up ASNU to ask if the replacement of micro filters and seals would sort the leaking and they said it probably would.

So I sent them my injectors and drove the car with the spare set, which was making it run rough and with a loss of power.

Now I received the injectors cleaned and refurb'd, but the report says they did not leak to start with <_<

Only fitted them tonight so need to wait and see if the starting problems are still there.

I don't understand what injector fault other than leaking would cause warm starting problems???

Also I thought the flow rate of 1.9L injectors was 214cc per injector - or is it for the four injectors all together? My report says that each injectors' flow rate is 54cc ??

Please educate me! :D

TEKNOPUG

They may not be leaking but they could have been blocked or partially blocked leading to an inefficient spray pattern?

Or though they look fine pre-clean from your print out.....

They were on 5 minutes after I checked the post lol

But haven;t had the chance to drive enough, stop and start the engine from warm yet.

So far smooth idle, a bit rich and had to re-adjust it too.

Started fine too.

erm yes 214cc would be for all 4. Need ~170 bhp per cylinder do you ? <_<

Ok I understood the report: the official flow rate figure of 214cc is given per minute.

ASNU's test lasts for 30s with a 50% duty cycle, which means that overall one injector is in open position for 50% of the testing time, in other words 15s.

15 seconds being a 1/4 of a minute, the figure of 54cc per 15s makes total sense, as it means that the injector's rate per minute is 216cc

I still don't get how they put that my injectors were not leaking though
