ORB 227 1 Cars Posted September 22, 2006 Dont know if you lot remember me saying i had a bit of a crack in my Exhaust manifold. Well, i got around to taking it off yesterday and took it to work today to get it welded up. Here is the extent of the crack Just thought you may want to see it? jim21070 2 Posted September 23, 2006 Orb, Did you have the proper knitted "scouring pad" manifold to down-pipe gasket fitted as from what I see in the picture it looks not. I also spot what looks like the remains of exhaust putty there. If that was the case then the exhaust would have leaked terribly from that joint and much worse than from the crack. ORB 227 1 Cars Posted September 23, 2006 Yeah, it had the correct type of manifold gasget, just the pic was cack! also, there was no putty. The crack will be arc welded, i am ok at it and have done a fair few in the past Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
