matty_gti 20 Posted September 22, 2006 Hi, Im getting my 1.6 GTI this evening which i bought on ebay and i am wondering because the passenger side electric window doesnt work and the fog lights at the front are missing, will this be an MOT failure????? welshpug 1,657 Posted September 22, 2006 nope, as the windows arent part of the MOT, and the front Auxillary lamps are NOT fog but DRIVING lamps, both will be advisory notes though.
Mad Professor 7 Posted September 22, 2006 I don't know about the window. I have front fogs on mine, But I have never got round to conecting them up, and I have pasted 3 MOT's now like that.
Butler 0 Posted September 22, 2006 Driving lamps are better off missing then if they are present but don't work or are broken.
bitchass 205 0 Posted September 22, 2006 Doesn't matter about the windows, my passenger one is fcuked and still passed.
matty_gti 20 Posted September 23, 2006 ok Thanks, also it has a blowing exhaust, what about this???
Mad Professor 7 Posted September 23, 2006 (edited) Depends how bad, Stick some Firegum paste on there just before the mot. Edited September 23, 2006 by Mad Professor
Rom 0 Posted September 23, 2006 Windows and front fogs are not testable items. I know there driving lights Most testers will slap a bit of pug on the exhaust if its only small. Has to be an excessive leak to fail.
