Halleluja , Finally Got The Gti-6 Engine!

Recommended Posts

finally got the engine i wanted for the 205 , and am going to take it out of the car myself tommorow .

donor car is the xsara vts , and was wondering if there is anything in particular that i should be aware of with regards to removal, i had a look today and must say it looks a littl daunting as its nowhere near as simple as my 1.6 i took out :) , i.e ots more sensors and stuff.

i also notices that the sump is broken from the crash , i would appear that the lower belt tensioner ( or thats what it looks like) has moved back and taked a chunk out of the sump .

the bloke from the scrappy said it should be ok and to be honest he's a good bloke and i trust him , but what do you guys think?

any help would be appreciated .

Hmmm.. it's gonna be hard to know whether the broken sump has caused any other intenal damage until you get it in and try ti fire it first time, not ideal.

As long as it's cheap as chips due to being damanged and an unknown runner I'd say give it a go... as for removing it just be methodical on removing stuff, take some masking tape and a pen to mark up the wires/pipes etc. so you won't forget which is which!
