Guest ashnicholls Posted September 13, 2006 As I have carbs fitted. I have now way of a recirculating breather system, so have a catch can joined to the top of the filler pipe. I am losing alot of oil though. About 1-2cm of creamy mayo in the bottom of a Coke bottle, just from doing 100miles? Surely that is too much? All my breather pipes are, or were clean when I fitted them 500miles ago. So is this normal, if not, what could the problem be? Cheers
newdean0 0 Posted September 14, 2006 That won't all be oil though, a lot of it will be condensation if it's like mayo. as long as your compression is healthy I wouldn't worry. A bit of oil loss is expected as the original breaker system has a mesh in the top to try and catch oil vapour and let it drip back down to the sump.
Guest ashnicholls Posted September 14, 2006 Yes, well my water is clean. No mayo in that, I have the mesh in the top of the breather system. Cheers Ash
