I'd redo it just to be sure.

 

iirc around 190-200 is deemed to be very good.

redo the test to double check.

 

but those results do look low and good engine should be 190+psi and should be within at most 10psi of each other.

Just done mine- 190 - 185- 230(yes)- 230 HOT engine

 

oil in bores 220 - 220- 230- 230

 

standard 1.6 90k and signs of head-off in past (head bolts are paint marked for tightening)

 

Tested for poss haedgasket failure as it's overheating after about 15 miles

 

(gunsons tester from Halfrauds- so prob not too accurate?)

I sometimes forget to open the throttle while doing the test.

The engine has to be up to working temerature too.

thanks for the help, i'll redo it next time my cars hot. i put a brick on my accelerator and my cars got an ignition bypass for the starter so i can turn it over in the engine bay.
