Reducing Vibration Through Grp N Mounts

Recommended Posts

huzzer

Have just fitted Group N mounts all round on my 1.9 but the shaking at tickover is quite severe. Has anybody found a way of reducing this shake as my car will fall to bits very shortly! The improvement to driving is excellent though! :D

have you fitted the uprated buffers to the top mount too? use std ones

other than that, they seem to wear in eventually

yes did use uprated top mounts too as that one was sheared off. Did have crazy thoughts of drilling holes in the bottom mount to soften it up but I dont think it would last long!

Give it time and miles, it does reduce a little after 3000 miles or so, though will always vibrate at tick over

Huzzer,

Give them time to settle in, they will cause less vibration then.

Thanks

Stew

Hi Stew. Got them from you the other day. Thanks for sorting them out quickly for me. Been out for half an hour and they seemed to be much better when I got back. The bottom mount was pretty warm so im guessing they soften up a bit whilst you drive.

The mounts do soften up with time. I also tweeked the idle speed up a little, which also helped.
