Oil In Dizzy

i've taken my dizzy off and found there is oil in it, under the dizzy cap and leaking out arounfd the vacume advance. is this normal? any help appreciated, kenny.

Not normal, signs are that the CAMSHAFT seal is weak, and therefore leaking.

 

Bit of a job to sort, seal will be leff than £10.

thanks, i'm planning on refubing the head any way so not to worry. is it likely to cause any damage/ loss of power? thanks.

Not damage, but can cause premature sparking and poor sparking if it floods the cap.

 

A slow, trickle or worse is best sorted ASAP.
