Re-build On A Xu9j4 Mi16v

Recommended Posts

Hello all ,i presently have a 205 which ive fully rebuilt and restored ,slowly its slipping down the trackday route and is great fun to drive .

It has a fully rebuilt XU9JA 1905 8v engine (SBC) spec with webber 45's and was set up at SBC, just done 2000 miles and was pleased to see 140 bhp at the wheels there that day.Not that iam a bhp nut or blagger,as long as its quicker and delivers the power as it should do.

Iam presently getting around to rebuilding a recently aquired XU9J4 MI 16 engine and will utilise the webber 45 's and an after market ignition set up either omex/emerald or megasquirt omitting the dizzy .

I want to try to get that liitle bit extra from the engine and was wondering from the MI owners what cams were found to give best results ,re-pro's or new blanks ,ive heard really good results from the inlet only cat cams giving a possible 17 bhp gain on the injection set up from 160 standard .

Thanks for making me welcome all .dazza

Ive spoken to Matt months ago and he's sent me the info and dyno print out's on the inlet Cat cam ,he's very impressed with it and iirc its the best option to date ive logged.

thanks very much Boombang iam sure i will find this link interesting for the rebuild .

Thats not a bad price for such a comprehensive rebuild .

However i can build one for approx two thirds of thst relistically with all the bells and whistles, and i enjoy building engine's to much as well to miss out on the fun ,mostly i KNOW whats been done .
