Found Loose Wires While Cleaning Engine

Recommended Posts

mishu

While I was cleaning the engine bay I found a few loose wires. I was wondering if anyone know what they are from/for, because I'm a bit concerned at the thought of having some loose wires dangling around the engine and moving parts.

The car in question is 1.1 GR (TU1 H1A engine).

1) A thick wire coming from the front of the engine and ending in a brown multiplug

2) A single wire coming from the main loom (well, I think it's the main loom, since it's wrapped in the thicked plastic isolator thingie which goes all the way through the firewall. There are two of these wires, but one ends right after the plastic isolator, while this one goes a lot longer.

3) Two multiplugs (one brown and one red) near the left headlight.

1)looks like it might be the diagnostic socket. ususally just held ontop of the cam cover, it dosn't plug into anyhting

2) they might be brake pad wear sensor wires, they connect to the caliper

3) the brown mutiplug is a test plug for the radiator fan. If you ridge the connections between the pins you shouldfind the fan omes on.

wire numbers are good if you can get them

I'll look tomorrow to see if there are any numbers on them. Thanks for the quick reply!

The first is a "diagnostic" plug - used when adjusting the ignition.
