Probably not. Don't forget ancillaries like injectors, fuel pump, air flow meter etc - are 15 year old injectors still going to have the flow rate they had when they were new? boombang 2 Posted September 9, 2006 A clean + refurb of the injectors could be worthwhile, along with re-tracking of AFM, service/rebuild of dizzy, making sure you have an OE spec downpipe + exhaust (or Magnex), new air filter, followed by a rolling road session. A few things can be done whilst the head is being refurbed such as 3 angle valve seats and a light skim/decking of the block to raise compression a little. You shouldn't need to do any of that IMO. My 1.6 is on well over 100k miles (120k indicated but has been clocked at some point), the bottom end has never been touched, original cam, valves, dizzy, injectors etc., and still makes every bit of power that it did when new according a to well-respected rolling road. The 1.9 often only makes a few bhp more than a similar 1.6, most 1.6's seem to make the book figure where the 1.9's don't but later cat equipped ones seem better at having near the book power. The 1.9 is more about the mid range though. exactly, and i think it's 128 bhp. Most are 128bhp but CAT equipped cars are booked at 122bhp. Graham. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
