Yet another problem with the 205!!

When i start up my car in the morning ie its cold it really doenst want 2 start then eventualy it does and sounds as if its running rich untill you give it a good rev and it clears its self. It then proceeds to ideling at around 1000rpm, then after driving about a mile it idels at 2000rpm then after a fair distance ie about 20 mins driving still doesnt coem down any. It will eventualy fall to 1500 agian then around 1000.

Is this whats meant to happen?!?! suerly not! any ideas on what the problem might be?

cheers allan

Check your SAD operation Allan.

The SAD (Supplementary Air Device) allows more air in when the engine is cold to give a fast idle. The SAD then closes (stops the additional air) when the engine is warm and drops the idle to normal.

Loads and loads of Posts on this. Search for SAD and you'll have all the info you could possibly need. This and air leaks downwind of the AFM will be your problem.
