peter 20 Posted September 8, 2006 Rang up peugeot today to order two new calipers to upgrade to the 283mm 206/307 "big brake conversion" orderd the yokes the pads the discs then when it came to the actual caliper itself the guy in parts says £176.98 each Now ive read Bonzai's fitting guide off here and he actualy orderd them for the 307 and were only £51.14 + VAT so i ring up again and qoute the part number for the 307 thinking it would be a smilar price and peugeot have just upped the prices, and they have to £62.98 inc VAT So does anyone know what the difference between the calipers? I cant imagen peugeot cashing in on the fact that there for a GTI 180 but then again.. However the part number for the yokes is the same as are the disks so im gessing that the calipers are interchangeable (sp)? Thanks
Doof 11 Posted September 8, 2006 I found out they were slightly more expensive when I ordered my calipers and yokes....but £176 takes the biscuit a little
Ahl 4 Posted September 8, 2006 lol! People have said that the pad shape is a little different between the calipers. I wouldn't have thought it'd make much difference though...certainly not £110 of difference! I think there may be more performance pads available for the 206 onesm though i'd be happy with 307 ones and some decent OE pads. They are huge after all! Ahl 4 Posted September 8, 2006 Cool, so 307 pads = 206 GTI. Probably is a good range then, maybe better than the 206 GTI 180.
Bonzai 2 Posted September 8, 2006 as ive said a couple times before, im more than happy with using standard 307 pads. im no expert on driving hard and braking harder by any means, but i usually find the tyres give in before the pads do, on the road anyway, havent driven enough on track to say for certain
