The Bolts That Hold The Manifolds To The Head

Hi all.

 

One of the bolts that screw into the head for the exhaust manifold to bolt onto is shagged. Does anyone on here have a spare or know where i can get one?

 

Also, All the nuts that were holding the manifold on are gubbed. What size are they and where can i get replacments.

easiest place would be peugeot, or any engine reconditioner.

OK, where can i get the part numbers from for these parts. I've dealt with my peugeot dealer before and they're not the most technical of people!

I cant be 100%. As ive not had mine off. But most other manifolds i have taken off, are a common thread size. An average M8 bolt if iirc. If this fits, could tide you over till you can order some. There generally not exspensive. I always replace them when i do heads etc.

Its all M8.

 

You can get a normal M8 bolt, grind the head off, tighten two nuts together on the end and tighten that into the head. Loosen off the nut against the other, tighten it down then job done

 

Other stuff just needs M8 nuts.

Yeah feeling pretty good today thanks.

 

I put a little inventory on the adress label so you know what's there too - btw those are all M8 too so you can use them to match up if nobody knows what M8 is.

if you buy from peugeot they only sell them in packs of five (go figure!) both for studs and nuts

You can get nuts from any motor factors, thats where I got mine from when I last fitted a new manifold. Nice copper ones as well that shouldn't rust to the studs.

The last lot of nuts i got from pug were copper! i was quite suprised

just dopnt forget the grease and torque wrench as theyre soo much softer than hi tensile or stainless steel
