robgti 0 Posted September 6, 2006 a few weeks ago i changed both my driveshafts and steering rack as it was needed for the mot. now before this the steering used to feel light turning right and abit heavy turning left and once i changed all that it still did it. well last night going to work i was accelerating when all of a sudden the steering wanted to go right really hard. then at slow speeds i can hear a wierd noise which sounds more like crunching then knocking. btw its a 205 running a saxo vts engine with tu subframe. any help would be great thanks
robgti 0 Posted September 7, 2006 update. on my way home this morning it doesnt seem to be pulling to the right now but when you floor it in 1st in doesnt pull as hard and when the revs get higher you can hear a loud whine. could it be the diff in the gearbox? taylorspug 7 Posted September 7, 2006 Whats it like on 'rundown' as it were? As in when you let off the throttle in gear does the car slow down quite quickly? Does sound as though its a gearbox related issue, especially if there is crunching and whining going on.
robgti 0 Posted September 8, 2006 well it does seem abit rough when taking foot off after giving it some but doesnt seem to slow down any different. im not sure if its gearbox related now as i noticed if you dip the clutch and rev it after about 5000rpm you can hear it whine and struggle to rev
