V8Pete 0 Posted September 6, 2006 The oil breather and filler hoses on my 205 GTI look terrible - burnt, twisted, collapsed, gunk on the inside, so I decided to replace them all. I just about fell off my chair when the local dealer told me it was going to cost about NZ$800 (approx. 275 GBP). Are the factory bends worth the expense? Are there any economical aftermarket solutions? What's that (really hard to see) thing under the distributor with oil and coolant hoses going into it? Why does the 205 GTI need so many breather hoses? I'm sure my other cars have like 2 at the most.

V8Pete 0 Posted September 6, 2006 Thanks, but I could only find a Samco coolant hose group buy. Is that what you were meaning?
welshpug 1,657 Posted September 6, 2006 directly under the dizzy there will be a hose coming off the thermostat, which goes round to the block to whick the engine tem sensor is bolted to and also the SAD, which has a few air hoses of its own (throttle bypass not breathers) from the oil filler pot theres one pipe going into the block, and 2 breathers, one just in front of the throttle and one that plugs into the throttle body, and also the one from the cam cover. theres also a vac advance hose, and a servo vac hose. was your quot of 800$ to replace all the breathers and coolant hoses? if it was only for the breathers thats rather steep! but then they do need shipping round the world!! philfingers 5 Posted September 6, 2006 you could try mailing www.peugeotparts.co.uk . This guy sells genuine stuff at discounted prices. Typically I have bought genuine back box, lower steering shaft and steering tie rods off him (albeit a few years back) at around 40% of the main dealer price.
