Motronic 3.1 Running Problems - 405 Sri

Recommended Posts

Powers

Well the car finally arrived and is too good to break; its done 55k miles with fsh.

However I am having some engine running problems:

Initial start up - Starts 1st turn of the key with a very smooth idle.

When warm - As soon as the engine is warm the car will not rev and idles erratically, if you try to rev the engine it stalls.

I initially assumed it was the ecu temp sensor so I unplugged this, however this didnt solve anything!

Any ideas!

Cheers.

If it ran exactly the same regardless of wether that sensor was connected I'd say it was thet that had failed, If it was reading it'd cause a change in some way.

when the ECU temp sensor gave up on the 205 it just dumped sooo much fuel in it was unbelieveable!

and ran the same with it unplugged

Air leak when warmed or TPS?

Although the TPS or something would make the engine management light come on imo. It was on mine just because the mixture pot plug wasn't on properly.

The dash light does come on!

Where is the mixture pot plug? Would this cause it to run rich during idle when warm?

Cheers Pugtorque.
