brianthemagical 1 Posted September 3, 2006 any idea as to weather a GTi-6 head will fit on a 1.9 GTi xu9? if so would the standard 205 GTi management work? any other points? thanks for the help.
Sandy 191 Posted September 4, 2006 There's no drilling for the extra camblet pulley and the right hand engine mount would be in the way. The L-Jetronic standard 205 management is not really suitable for 16v engines and fitting a distributor on the GTi6 head would be a serious operation. Verdict has to be... not worth it! brianthemagical 1 Posted September 4, 2006 thanks. if've wanted to go the 16v route without a full engine transplant, obviusly didn't look deep enough in to it.
mbayley77 0 Posted September 4, 2006 GTI6 distributor drive can be done - i designed my own and its worked fine for me on carbs though!
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted September 5, 2006 Does the GTi-6 engine have the inlet cam driven vacuum drive unit like the S16? If so then fitting a dizzy shouldn't be that hard because the cam will have a suitable keyway already in it . Graham.
Sandy 191 Posted September 5, 2006 It has one on the exhaust cam.
