chunkymonkey 0 Posted September 3, 2006 hi there my engine runs sweet up to about 5k then it cuts out, back firing and spluttering. i THINK its an electrical problem has any one got any ideas im thinking along the lines of the airflow meter, maybe the coil is breaking down,(seems unlikely though) any advice would be great cheers gary Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Jonmurgie 2 Posted September 3, 2006 If it's happening at high RMP and under load then check over your whole ignition system (plugs/leads/dizzy cap & arm/coil etc.) as that's certainly the first place to look Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
chunkymonkey 0 Posted September 3, 2006 the plugs are fine the leads are relatively new. i have yet to take the dizzy cap off and check condition of it and the rotor arm, as in the past when they have gone off the car has run pretty bad throughout the rev range. im considering taking the car to the garage to sort????
