inferno 1 Posted September 2, 2006 (edited) my downpipe has no split in it like the normal mi6 ones, would this be causing my dip in power low down and giving me a higher top end? if so id like a new exhaust please! also would a 4/2/1 be significantly better than a standard mi manifold and downpipe? Ahl 4 Posted September 2, 2006 In theory that would be the case, but it might not be the only cause of your problems. It probably doesn't have *that* much effect. It also is a 4-2-1 system as standard with the split in the downpipe and has shown to flow very well for a standard system. Personally I wouldn't worry about fitting a better manifold until the car was putting out closer to 200hp.
welshpug 1,657 Posted September 2, 2006 i'd second that, leave the std manifold well alone but get a split downpipe to suit, the Mi16 has a bad enough flat spot in power mid range as it is!
maturin23 10 Posted September 2, 2006 I bought an Alvin downpipe this morning from Partco for £35 + VAT Got the split - looks well put together. I also got a carrier bag of nice wide new jubilee clips of assorted sizes (probably about 30 odd) for free
