stealth_pug 0 Posted September 1, 2006 Hi, a friend of mine has asked me if i would consider doing an engine change for him on his saxo. He wants to convert from 1.1 to VTR 1.6. I recently changed my 205 TU 1.1 for a XS 1.4 also a TU and had no big problems. As the saxo is also a TU would this change be very similar. One issue i have is that the 205 was carbs and the saxo is injection so would the change still be simple as its changing from injection to injection while the 205 was carb to carb? If there are any differences i would appreciate the help and advice. Thanks
Sandy 191 Posted September 1, 2006 It's pretty easy if you have the relevant wiring diagrams. you also need the keypad/immobiliser from the donor car and ECU, or an "unlocked" ECU.
welshpug 1,657 Posted September 1, 2006 and the VTR suspension, as the 1.1's use a similar arrangement to the non XU 205's, thats a bit weedy!

Dj_mini 7 Posted September 4, 2006 Best to change the box, shafts, struts and brakes all over as there much better on the 1.6. As above make sure you get an un locked ecu thats half the battle with the conversion.
