willxs 0 Posted August 31, 2006 there isnt the usual knocking noise from the driveshafts when i pull away etc its just when i go round tight corners... it started to knock quite loudly. and i can feel it on the steering. im not sure if anyone remembers but i posted abit ago saying how the 'spider' part of the driveshaft came off the shaft whilst in the CV boot, and havent got round to stop if sliding about. could it be that just moving outwards and catching awkwardly in the CV? as i cant think of anything else it'll be. the bearings arent noisy, and although the drop link creaks, i wouldnt of thought it'll go through the steering and make the noise it does...... Cheers in advance
bren_1.3 1 Posted September 2, 2006 yeh busted driveshafts go straight through the steering column. you can feel it quite noticably. it'll only get worse and worse so refit the spider and see if that helps. but i suspect it might be on its way out.
