pdd144c 0 Posted August 31, 2006 Does anyone have any photos or links to photos of DPs 16v turbo manifolds on a working engine in a car? Need to see how much clearance I will have with regards to bulkhead and my rollcage. Thanks Paul.
TEKNOPUG 3 Posted August 31, 2006 hmmmm.....you could try their website?
pdd144c 0 Posted August 31, 2006 Have tried that, not really much help. Dont think they have uploaded all their project cars up on the new site yet.
hman205 1 Posted August 31, 2006 http://www.dp-engineering.nl/EN/projects/205_cti_turbo.php should all be here
miamistu 1 Posted August 31, 2006 http://www.dp-engineering.nl/EN/projects/205_cti_turbo.php should all be here Hmmm, it looks like they've changed the design of that manifold: From above the head: To behind the head: (from here) Or are there two versions for left hand and right handed cars? pdd144c 0 Posted August 31, 2006 Thats what I was wondering Stu, as my cage comes out of the bulkhead... There used to be numerous pics around the web but they all seem to have gone!
Malachy 0 Posted August 31, 2006 i dont think that 205 is using the dp engineering manifold (t16 possibly?), if you look at the other projects it states them using it this one does not. the zx is using the dp manifold see pic
Sam 4 Posted August 31, 2006 Paul I won't get back into the UK till the end of October but you're welcome to give mine a try, its sitting at home with the turbo and downpipe etc.
jochem 0 Posted August 31, 2006 Hi Paul, that first picture is the manifold that dave made first for his own mi16 turbo and was later sold to a client. The second picture is the manifold as sold by DP now. Did you try mailing them for some pics yet?
Sam 4 Posted August 31, 2006 Paul, Whats your email, I have loads of pics.
pdd144c 0 Posted September 1, 2006 Cheers for that lads. My email is pdd144c@hotmail.com Sam, would be great to try your manifold for fit if you wouldn't mind. Needs to fit in this gap:
Hilgie 16 2 Cars Posted September 6, 2006 It will fit without problems. Pieter has the same manifold in his 205 S16 turbo. No clearance issues whatsoever.
pdd144c 0 Posted September 6, 2006 Even with the cage coming through the bulk head Hilgie?
Sam 4 Posted September 6, 2006 Mailed some pics, not sure if they are any use.
Hilgie 16 2 Cars Posted September 12, 2006 Even with the cage coming through the bulk head Hilgie? As far as I can see it is no problem. It is the later item you will get when you order, not the early ones that go over the camcover (which would have had a clearance issue!).
dee205 3 Posted September 13, 2006 The 16v kit on the website works out at around £1520. That doesn't seem too bad does it? Would you need to run a fifth injector and controller and use a thicker head gasket to lower compression to get it up and running? Or am I way off the mark and more would be needed. Obviously making sure the engine was in good condition first with possibly a rebuilt. Damien
Hilgie 16 2 Cars Posted September 14, 2006 That'll be this one http://www.dp-engineering.nl/EN/products/t...u_16v_compo.php Best is have a decompressionplate from them as well and fit a programmable management. 5th injector is sooo eighties
pdd144c 0 Posted September 14, 2006 Or get forged pistons. Not sure I'd go the plate route, running two head gaskets doesn't seem like a good idea to me.
Hilgie 16 2 Cars Posted September 18, 2006 It is a 1mm steel plate sandwiched between two headgaskets. From what I've heard from Pieter it works very well.
