Water Temp Gauge Not Working

Recommended Posts

Guest Dave_the_B

I've just finished putting a 1.9 in an old 1.6, everything works except the water temp gauge :)

I've tried swapping the wires on the two sendors behind the dizzy with no luck so I checked both wires with a volt meter...one came in at 0.88volts and the other a big fat zero.

Traced the wires down to the plug on the loom; still the same result.....is there a fuse I might have blown, a plug I have forgotten?

Any ideas please?

Many thanks

Dave

The infamous brown multi-plug under the AFM has to be a prime suspect :)

It can look reasonably OK but the contacts can be very badly corroded. Cleaning somethines helps but replacement is the best course.

What voltage should be going to the sensors?

Rewired, reconnected, reworking again...BRILLIANT
