Alternator Part Number / Type

Recommended Posts

Bassman

Hi,

I made it to Poland and I have found a good car shop that can probably get me a brush pack cheap, except they want to know which alternator is fitted to my car.

Looking at the online parts cd I have the following choices. My car is a 1990 1.9, I have tried looking at the alternator in-situ but I can't see any part markings other than a small sticker saying UNI7-08 in top. From other threads I am guessing it should be a 70-amp part, but which one!?! :D

Thanks

Rob

Mine the 70AMP one. The 50Amp is for the base model.

I think theres a sticker on the back.

You might have to use a mirror between the inlet manifold to see it though.

I bought a brush pack for mine about a year ago.

I remember it only costing £12.

It needs a new set of bearings now though.

Oh, I didn't realise they were that cheap, I'll sort it when I get back then!

I remember it been very easy to fit too.

The hardest part was getting the pulley nut off.

There is a small pin hole at the back of the alternator body that you need to use to hold back the brushes when you replace the shaft.
