Few Confusions

Recommended Posts

Whilst removing a few more pipes wires etc in preparation for the mi to go in soon, i came across a few things which have puzzled me?

1. When i removed the gearbox i found this little device Pic 1, Pic 2 It was plugged into the gearbox.......i wondered if it was like a TDC sensor possibly??

and for the rest i am confused with found another loom coming through the passenger side when i was sure it only came through the drivers side when i was readying the wiring for mi ;) On this loom it looks the oil and coolant -_- bah so annoying i am sure they were on the brown plugs by the steering coloum but the strange thing is the actual wires for these devices weren't actually plugged into the loom and i am sure when the car was on the road the dials relating to them were working :) so confused have to go through and double check now :D

That sensor is a tdc sensor that Peugeot use and the loom coming through on the pass side should just be headlights horn etc. hth

what year is it? if its pre '88 it could well have some of the dash sensor wiring in the passenger side loom but if its later than that it should have a fully self contained engine loom.

from the pics the cars an F reg so proberbly the phase 1 loom that has sone going through the right hand side and sensors, ignition amp, coil wiring going throught the left hand side along with the lighting wiring.

that sensor is the pug diagnostic sensor which never gets used.

Even more confused now :)

Checked the wiring down by the drivers footwell and most of it i have bar the coolant fluid level (47b) (going by AndyR's guide) and so i guessing that comes through from the passenger side.

I went to take a look down on that side lowered the fusebox and low and behold what do i find 2 more similar looking brown plugs and alot of the wires on them match up with the numbers including the one i don't have

So I am lost again bloody french car!!!!

phase 1 wiring you have.

there should be 2 biggest multiplugs by the fusebox wrapped in foam stuff. this is where you need to connect the wiring 2 for sensors, starter etc.

Thank you!

i was concerned about it  oh well another task to do but at leasts it's not too bad B):)

and i guess if i am taking part off the dash out i can stop the squeaks :D

EDIT so if i remember rightly some of the wiring goes through the drivers bulkhead and the other half sensors etc come through the passengers side
