Guest fredster Posted August 26, 2006 HI Folks, When I turn my key to the first ignition position the stereo gets power but so does the dash - all the gauges come on as does the battery light and the handbrake light. Is this normal? Its a stock 88 205 1.9. I'm worried that with the engine not running and the stereo on I'm flattening the battery or buggering the coil/dizzy/etc. cheers fred
jimbean 0 Posted August 26, 2006 DOES THE BATTERY GO FLAT IF YOU LEAVE IT FOR A FEW DAYS? IF NOT ITS FINE AS LONG AS THE RADIO TURNS OFF WHEN THE KEY IS OUT IT WILL NOT DRAIN THE BATTERY

jim21070 2 Posted August 26, 2006 Yep, Quite normal. It's common to all PSA vehicles of this vintage although later ones just leave the ignition light on...
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted August 27, 2006 With the ingition on first click there is no power going to the coil etc, just the accessories (guages, radio etc) Graham.
