d-9 0 Posted August 25, 2006 Ive just put the mi back in and the clutch felt really wierd, like you were pushing against a spring not against a clutch, and there was no biting point, felt totally different to the other car i have with an mi16 box. So ive dropped the box off and had a look, does this look wrong? Have I done something daft like put the clutch in the wrong way round? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

d-9 0 Posted August 26, 2006 Its a mi16 box with the be3 clutch arm, its not just the nasty feel (thou that was the giveaway something was wrong) its the way it isnt disengaging, so if i stand on the pedal and try and get a gear it just crunches. Clutch and flywheel are both in fairly good condition, they were on the engine and working fine, then i took them off to fit the engine to the stand and its since ive put them back on that its been wierd and not worked. The only thing Ive changed is the box, which has gone from 1.9 be1 to mi16 be3, but i used a be3 release bearing so i assumed it'd be ok. I was kind expecting the prongy spring bits on the clutch cover to stick out more than they do? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

sonofsam 5 Posted August 26, 2006 I think youd be able to tell if it was a pull type clutch as they have the release bearing as part of the assy.Did on the turbo clutch anyway.
