Jonmurgie 2 Posted August 24, 2006 One fan is standard so don't panic... you can fit another fan, just get one out of another 205 and slot it in there. On the 1.9 GTi the second fan hole is used for the oil cooler BTW

Duroc 2 1 Cars Posted August 24, 2006 The single fan should be more than adequate for a 1.6. If the engine is overheating there must be a fault somewhere.
Guest fisherspug Posted August 25, 2006 she doesnt over heat, jst thought id benifit from 2. would it actually make a diggernce?
Rob_the_Sparky 9 Posted August 25, 2006 No, if temperatures are already correct then fitting another will make no diffreence at all. Only things I'm aware of that use both slots as standard are Diesels and cars with air-con fitted. Rob No, if temperatures are already correct then fitting another will make no diffreence at all. Guest Fangoria Posted August 25, 2006 i've fitted a second fan on my road rally car, got it wired to a switch to use if the car gets really hot which it sometimes does on events, on the road you shouldn't need one though

d-9 0 Posted August 26, 2006 Only things I'm aware of that use both slots as standard are Diesels and cars with air-con fitted. Yeah my auto with aircon came with twin fans, wired up in a very strange way. As far as I can tell, only one fan is controlled by the thermal switch in the rad, wheras the aircon system can switch both fans on. I'll work out a wiring diagram for it at some point. petert 587 Posted August 26, 2006 all the Aussie delivered 205's have A/C and thus also have twin fans. The switching is quite clever. The relays connect them in series first stage, then parallel second stage.

Now I just need to work out why only one of them comes on with temp sensor.
