Mi16 Oil Cooler To Block - Oil Seal

Recommended Posts

Simon B

Hi all ;)

Whilst having a top day at Donington circuit on Sunday, my Mi16's oil cooler to block oil seal decided to split, throwing oil all over the place and causing me to spin! Luckily it was the very last lap of the day anyway so no track time lost!

Where can i get one of these from quick sharp? Anywhere that I can order online to arrive with me on Friday??????

Cheers for any help!

Nigel!

Higgy

Its a normal oil filter seal from what I remember.

So pull one off an old filter or just buy a cheap new filter and pull the seal off.

Higgy.

Thank you for that Higgy!

It certainly looks like an oil filter seal - can anyone else confirm that my old oil filters seal will fit and work 100%?

Cheers!!! :D

Not sure that it will. If you are using the standard 1.9 sandwich plate then the seal is a bit thinner than an oil filter one.

Try going down to a motor factor, a good one should have a selection of seals/o-rings etc, hopefully they will have one that fits.

Try the oil filter one by all means though, and let us know how it goes! :D

I had the same seal go and I couldn't find one anywhere so had to order from Peugeot who obviously didn't have it in stock!

Took a few days, just depends if the person who serves you can be bothered to order it straight away!

Mine was on my 1.9 gti block and the seal was a lot thinner than the one in the filter, hope that helps

Simon
