Hi all. This is my first topic posting!

I have a standard 1.9 gti. I have recently purchased a fully built cylinder head with piper 270 cam and

piper vernier pully, what i wanted to know is, what will be the main diffrence in performance , power, and will it be o.k for an MOT? Thanks.

p.s will it run o.k with the standard bottom end?

Pumaracing.

I have a Piper 270 cam on mine & although it doesn't make very much difference over all it helps it rev into the redline a little better, the normal 1.9 has given up by 6k usually & struggles to reach the limiter.

If your bottom end is in good condition it should be fine but if you have any doubts about its condition it might not be worth fitting just for it to go bang in a few thousand miles. Does it burn oil? Although this might be simply the valve stem oil seals get a compression test done to see how healthy it is before you start taking everything off to fit the head.

In all honesty though you'll be hard pushed to notice a difference with it fitted.

Graham.
