you will gain more in responsiveness than out and out power really, maybe 3 or 4 bhp??

my 92 k reg zx didnt have a cat... i think 92/93 it was introdced and 94 cats were essential.

from experience with a 1.8 zetec, removing the cat alone had no effect on power.

should make a difference if your removing a cat for a 205gti as the models fitted with one are0.6secs to 60 slower and lose 3mph at the top end(if they ever get there!!! ):D:o

p.s you might even see more *HUGE* gains by fittng an aftermarket exhaust system and manifold

not quite, as the Catted models were also lower compression and different cam timing and lift etc so would be lower output whatever exhaust they had, though IIRC they do have a better management system.

that's correct, de-catting will only get a bit of a responsivity back and maybe a bhp or two.

but ofcourse, you want to do it :P.

ive got a 93 1.9gti with a cat at the moment.ive also got a full stainless magnex exhaust system and manifold to fit to the car.hoping it will make some improvement to the car.not so sure if the later management is all that great but what do you expect from a 13year old french car? :P
