smighall 1 Posted August 21, 2006 I've just finished putting a gti6 lump into my 205, but when i try and start it, i'm getting no spark. I've checked the voltages going to the coil packs but am only getting about 1v when cranking. I checked on my normal gti6 and it should be 1v on the second click of the key and 12/13v when cranking. Also i don't think the fuel pump is getting enough power either. I sent my ECU away to get unlocked but the only thing i can think of is that it's stilll immobilised. Has any one got any ideas for me to check? Cheers Sean
littlemike 0 Posted August 21, 2006 (edited) Hi Sean. Can you hear the fuel pump prime itself when you turn the ignition on? The first time you turn it on after connecting the battery up it should prime for several seconds, maybe 6 - 10? Also check that you have this wire: Grey 123 -Switched +tve that powers Lambda sensor. connected to wire: Thick White 120 -fuel pump (through a 20amp or so fuse). as I didn't make it too clear in the list of wires I gave you on 306gti6.com Edited August 21, 2006 by littlemike
jimbean 0 Posted August 21, 2006 check your ign live is 12v while cranking. i had problems witha mi 16.. when the starter was cranking the ign live was 0v swapped it over and sorted fault

smighall 1 Posted August 21, 2006 Yup, ECU unlocked, i found a load of cables that had been cut by the relays, but reconnected them up, and still no difference.

d-9 0 Posted August 22, 2006 you're reading too fast yeah you're right. sorry
pugrallye 0 Posted August 22, 2006 since you have lost spark and fuel pump, also check injectors, if they arent working either, start looking at the relay as being faulty, as it controls all three
smighall 1 Posted August 22, 2006 I've tested the relay in my normal 306 gti6 and it works fine. However, i've just found that i hadn't connected the red 2 cable (ign switched +ve i think). Now i assume in a 306 this goes to the fuse box and then puts power to the right places, i.e. the relay. So does anybody know what wire is the +ve switched for the relays? smighall 1 Posted August 22, 2006 Right i think it's running now. Can't run it for long as it has very little water due to a cracked pipe, which should be here tomorrow. Thanks for all the advice guys
