ORB 227 1 Cars Posted August 20, 2006 (edited) OK, so i am getting a 1600 GTi up and ready for a bit of fun, and intend to drive it with the 1600 for some time yet. But, working in the motor trade, i get my paws on a fair few cars, but not a whole load of 'older cars' meaning MI16's and the like So, what I am asking is, what car should I keep my mince pies open for, so that i can do a simple engine swap and get a radical amount of power increase? I mean the likes of 406 turbo petrols? any rapid motors that i can buy a complete car, rob the engine and rebuild so I have a unit that is easy to fit and will run in the 205 with little problem? I have a complete MI16 engine that my brother rebuilt last year, sitting in a garage, but thats got its name on another project. So, what am I to look for, and how hard is it to fit? Thanks Edited August 20, 2006 by ORB
jackherer 543 Posted August 21, 2006 you'll get the best value from a citroen xantia donor probably, either a 2.0 turbo petrol from an Activa or some VSX estates or a 2.0 16v from some VSX models that is essentially the same as the 306 S16 and 2.0 405 Mi16 engine.
