OK,

So as per my last thread regarding my 205 I have changed the Engine Temp sensor, I have also installed a new coil, and generally checked out all parts of the engine for condition and all seems fine, but.....

Another problem has developed.....

The fecker will not run.....

So, I undid everything and went back to square one, still no run, so i put all the new gear back on, and, still no run, i checked the timing, no, and was just about to give up, when i decided to take off the fuel pipes....

So, I took off the fuel feed pipe and ran the engine, it cranked over untill it fired... odd, it then ran untill the fuel in the chambers ran out and died.

So, I conected up the fuel pipe again, and it flooded up again, then would not fire.

So, i checked the return pipe and its returing ok.

My thoughts are, maybe its the fuel pressure regulator?

Could it be anything else?

It is just sickening the motor so bad instantly and will not even fire?

Any ideas?

thanks

which temp sensor have you changed? the one for the dials or the one for the ecu? It sounds like you have changed the ones for the ecu and pulled the wire out the plug as they are very fragile. Doing this makes it empty the fuel tank into the engine when trying to run it. examine the plug and the wires and if you are desperate to use it while you find a new plug just join the wires together as a quick fix.

Yeah that's the ecu temp sensor, so you have either damaged the wires or the plug is knackered/corroded. Pull the plug off using only the plug to pull it and have a look and the connections. If they look ok pull the rubber seal away and have a look at the wiring.

Should be a rubber seal round the base of the plug where the wires go in. Just try and push them back in the plug initialy and see if it works. Joining the 2 wires will make it work but the fueling won't be perfect. The best way to fix it is to nick a good plug off a spare loom and wire it to that.
