Front Triangle Arm -- Changing Bushes

Recommended Posts

mishu

OK, I burned off the existing bushes I'd now like to order a new set of bushes and replace them. I've looked at the parts CD and found that you can order a set for all of them, except one...

Can anyone tell me whether this bush can be ordered separately? I haven't been able to find the part no. anywhere. Here it is in the Haynes manual:

BTW, is there a special fitting procedure?

P.S. I assume the front triangle arm is OK after burning the bushes (I poured some diesel on some coals and set them on fire, then put the part of the arm with the bushes in there). I'd hate to have to order the entire arm...

the ball joint you've circled isn't replaceable, you do need to buy new wishbones if they are worn or the rubbers are split. Its a very bad design from that point of view :)

Balls, that's a question I was going to ask as mine are split B)

So it's a whole new wishbone then for each side??

There has to be a way of changing the balljoint.

On most other Peugeot/Citroen models it is replaceable.

Is it press-fitted ?

Agreed,

Although I don't know how to replace them I am certain that with the right kit they can be removed, probably with a big press. I can't see the "new" ones from GSF being a new casting...

its probably more a safety issue, as the load of those bushes is quite high.

I wouldnt feel safe driving on bushes that id installed. They are a bit expensive though.

Rob,

getting them out wasn't a problem, I just burned them off. But be careful, as they explode when burned!!

I guess I'll be ordering a set of wishbones.

Anyone know an aprox. price? So that I at least know what to expect...
