Owain1602 0 Posted August 15, 2006 I have finaly got a few minutes the other day to look at my rally project running omex mapped ignition and 40dcoes. I am using a 36-1 trigger wheel, got it mounted as close as i can to the timing position but obviouslt it will be a bit out. I think next i need to set the offset values with the "spark out" to finalise the trigger wheel position but in order to do this i need a fairly steady idle or low speed. Basicall what i would like to know is, what you guys recon i should set the advance to on the map so it will run to about 2-2.5k revs? Say set them all to 10deg advance or what, and a suitable cranking advance, i have it at 5 now. I got it started the other day just to see if it would and it did but on cranking it seems to spit back a bit and it has sooted up new plugs in about 3-4 minutes, i think its cos the timing is way retarded cos i just set the idle mixture to a basic 2 1/2 turns out. Any advice or tips from you with more experience than me on this subject? Thanks a lot,
paul wicks 0 Posted August 15, 2006 Give Neal at Des Developments a ring if you get really stuck. He added Omex ignition only ECU to my 205 Mi16 on twin 45 DHLA Dellorto carbs. http://www.des-developments.com/

Jakob 1 Posted August 15, 2006 (edited) You need to have more than 5 degrees. This OMEX 500 (ignition + fuel) map is based on following: Omex 500 N/A Engine Load = TPS / Load 100 = full throttle RPM 0-8000 300ml nozzles 36:1 trigger wheel The ignition map should give you a fairly good starting point. If it has any interest you can download the full map here on my website: http://www.powerpage.dk/tuning_motorstyrin...meksempler.aspx It is the last download "Program 3" /Jakob Edited August 15, 2006 by Jakob
Jakob 1 Posted August 16, 2006 The CPS (triggerwheel) settings is based on a magnetic sensor placed 90° before TDC /Jakob
