daza 0 Posted August 14, 2006 I need to replace my rear discs and pads i want to do it myself to save money,i've done a search and it says to remove caliper it's just two 19mm nuts and a 5mm allen key,is it as easy as it sounds? the only nuts i can see are on the back of the caliper, sorry i'm a noob
wildejon 7 Posted August 14, 2006 I've got a 1.6 rear beam so my advice might be slightly wrong but I wouldn't have thought you'd have to use an allen key. Should just be a couple of bolts to get the the caliper off. Make sure you rest it on something though and dont hang it on the brake hose. Go real easy on the brakes for a while too (200 miles I think, I'm sure I'll be corrected ) so you don't warp the disks.
Ryan 99 Posted August 14, 2006 You can do it without undoing the caliper. Once you've taken the pads out there is just enough room to slide the discs out.
Sandy 191 Posted August 14, 2006 I'd like to associate myself with the comments of the last poster. Just to reinforce that he's right, not simply to make me look clever.
